Our Staff Owner and Registered Farrier - Mr Eric Nunn Mr Eric J Nunn is the owner of North Lizard Riding School. He has always been around horses and has been working in the equine industry for over 38years. Once a jockey in the British Harness Racing, he still enjoys working with horses as he is a registered Farrier.
Instructor - Mrs Janet Naughton Janet is well known and respected at North Lizard Riding School. Having worked here all of her
“many” years, she has a wealth of experience and has taught whole generations of families to ride.
Janet has owned horses and been around them her whole life and enjoys passing on her love of
riding and horse care to her pupils. Her parents owned the Riding School from 1972 until Mr Nunn
took over the reins in 2004 when they retired. She worked her way through The Pony Club
examinations and has also held the BHSAI examination certificate for 39 years. Janet competed
regularly in dressage competitions both regionally and nationally on her mare Kelly and her son, the
home bred, Charlie.
Instructor - Miss Taylor Elgar Taylor has been around horses for all of her life and began riding at NLRS . She owned her first horse from the age of 10. Taylor has completed in all disciplines and her passion and love lies with eventing and competed at British eventing level. Currently she is concentrating on her dressage until her young horse is broken who she hopes will be her next eventing horse.
After finishing university she then went to work on a eventing yard and quickly became head girl for a dressage rider which is then where the love for dressage came from. Working on these yards she gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. Taylor currently has 4 horses of her own for competing. At present she holds her BHS stage 1 & 2, first aid, safe guarding certificates and clear DBS. Taylor loves teaching and being involved with the children, making lessons full of fun and laughter.Instructor - Miss Courtney Brown
Courtney has been riding since the age of 4, owning her own pony from the age of 10. She has competed in all disciplines but particularly enjoys show jumping having spent some time working in an international show jumping yard. She has many equestrian qualifications including Level 3 Subsidiary diploma in horse management, Level 3 certificate in principle of horse care and management and is currently working towards her UKCC L2 and BHS Stages 3 and 4.
Courtney is also a fully qualified equine sports massage therapist and studying at university to become an equine physiotherapist.
Instructor - Hannah Thompson
Hannah has been riding horses for 15 years and has owned her own for 8 years. She especially enjoys teaching younger riders and excels in relaxing them with her friendly manner.
She has completed her BHS stage 1 and BHS stage 2 and is working towards stage 3 this year. She is first aid and safe guarding qualified , with a clear DBS certificate
